Every story has a beginning. Ours started with a reset.
Charis Story Lab began when I found myself at a crossroads after spending two decades in the corporate world leading teams and solving complex problems. I had become a successful HR executive, a career that I had worked hard to build and earn. Then in the summer of 2026, an unexpected halt gave me something that I hadn’t had in a very long time — space.
Space to pause, to wonder, and to ask myself a different question:
What would I create if I could start all over?
The answer took me somewhere unexpected — back to childhood.
I had always loved art. I loved being creative and bringing an idea to life. I loved imagining stories and wondering what might happen if…
Then my 10‑year‑old son showed me a frog he created. We named him George.
We talked about where George might go, what he might dream about, what could stand in his way, and how he might find a way forward.
We sketched. We wrote. We laughed and we imagined.
And somewhere in those conversations, Charis Story Lab began to take shape.
A mother. A son. A little imagination. And the belief that it’s never too late to dream what’s possible.
Why Charis?
Charis (χάρις, pronounced KHAR‑iss) is an ancient Greek word often associated with grace, kindness, goodwill, and a gift freely given.
That idea resonated with us.
Because life can give us something we didn’t ask for, and sometimes we discover a gift within an unexpected change.
For us, the unexpected reset gave us the gift of space to imagine and rediscover creativity. It gave us the gift of creating stories together. And we want our stories to be gifts to those who see a little of themselves in the worlds we create.
Our Vision
At Charis Story Lab, we believe the best stories don’t have an age limit.
We are creating stories that invite children to dream boldly, wonder freely, and see possibilities where others might see limitations.
Stories that remind grown-ups of the curious, imaginative person they once were — and perhaps still are.
Stories filled with kindness, courage, humor, and the belief that there is more than one way to find your way forward.
Some will be silly.
Some will be adventurous.
Some might remind you of things that you forgot a long time ago.
And some might make you think that the most beautiful adventure can be the one with an unexpected turn.
Our stories are created to be enjoyed together and experienced differently by everyone who steps into them.
